The billionaire Kochs and their tea party politics presented a clear threat to independent journalism, so several organizations, including Forecast the Facts, Courage Campaign, Working Families started MoveOn Petitions asking Tribune Company CEO Peter Liguori not to sell to the Koch brothers.
