Leadership and Experience

Matt Little is a dedicated public servant, consumer advocate, and lifelong resident of Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. Born and raised in Lakeville, Matt has spent his career fighting for his community at every level of local government. His path of public service began on the Lakeville City Council, which paved the way for his election as the Mayor of Lakeville. As Mayor, Matt prioritized responsible infrastructure investments while successfully keeping per capita taxes among the lowest in Dakota County and the South Metro.

Matt took his proven track record of pragmatic, community-first leadership to the state level, serving as a Minnesota State Senator. In the legislature, he brought a strong voice to key panels including the Jobs and Economic Growth, Transportation, and Veterans committees, championing local economies, senior transit, and infrastructure. Outside of his legislative career, Matt operates his own law firm as a small business owner, working as an attorney fighting for seniors and individuals with disabilities who have suffered from negligence or abuse. Now running for Congress as a Democrat after decisively winning the DFL party endorsement, Matt is stepping up to deliver bold, structural change in Washington for working-class families.
