MoveOn members have organized and mobilized together, putting our collective people power to work to build a country and world where everyone can thrive.

These are a few of our people-powered campaign efforts.

With so much at stake this election year, MoveOn is mobilizing millions of voters to protect our freedoms, rights, and benefits from MAGA Republicans trying to ban abortion nationwide, overturn elections, reject the will of the people, and end Medicare and Social Security.

That’s why MoveOn launched a $30 million+ election program—our largest ever for a midterm—that will build long-term progressive power and move the needle in key races ranging from Congress to gubernatorial and secretaries of state contests.

To win this November, we will:

  • Fight the right and defend democracy by helping to elect secretaries of state and governors who will safeguard our elections, protect our freedom to vote, and defend our majorities in the U.S. House & Senate.

  • Drive campaigns to motivate Democratic voters to channel their righteous anger from the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the revelations coming out of the January 6 hearings, and more into concrete plans to vote for candidates who will protect our freedoms, our futures, and our families.

  • Build the largest relational mobilization of the midterm elections to reach out to voters who might not vote this year without a personal request from someone they know. Encouraged by their friends and family through this tested and proven tactic, these voters have the power to swing the election in Democrats’ favor, just as they did in 2020.

Be a part of the community of MoveOn members working together to safeguard our democracy and elect candidates who will fight to build an America for all.

Together, we can defeat MAGA again. It’s going to take all of us joining together to defeat the radical MAGA agenda and elect pro-democracy champions to defend our rights and our country.

George Floyd was a Black man who was murdered in broad daylight after a grocery clerk called the police for a supposed counterfeit bill. For 8 minutes and 46 seconds, Floyd laid on the street while officer Derek Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck as he was struggling to breathe. He lost consciousness, and yet they continued to strangle him. Numerous bystanders pleaded with the police officer to let him go, while Floyd said the words “I can’t breathe” several times.

After the murder, officers called his death a “medical problem.” And it wasn’t until the video was released, clearly showing them choking him, that we finally saw the truth. This was a blatant and disgusting cover-up to prevent accountability for their brutal act of violence.

Police continue to hunt down Black folks in cities across America, and we refuse to sit silent. It was not too long ago we heard Eric Garner utter the same last words, “I can’t breathe.” And just months ago, officers stormed Breonna Taylor’s house and murdered her in her own home.

We stand in solidarity with calls to Defund the Police and with the entire Movement for Black Lives.

The USPS is a self-funded quasi-independent government agency that provides jobs to more than 640,000 workers. Their revenue comes entirely from postage and services—not from tax dollars—and they’re anticipating a 50% loss of revenue in the coming year.

Trump wants to let the Postal Service run out of funds.

To date, the USPS has not been included in any stimulus bills—though FedEx and UPS have been—and is at great risk of running out of money within a few months. This would leave millions of Americans in the lurch and would wreak havoc for those who need to vote by mail. People impacted by COVID-19 and deployed members of the military and their families who rely on voting by mail would have to overcome unnecessary obstacles to exercise their right to vote.

The Postal Service serves every address on an equal basis, all 160 million of them in the U.S. In addition to delivering greeting cards, utility bills, magazines, and everything else we send in the mail, our mail carriers deliver 4 million prescription medications to households each day. MoveOn members are pushing hard to get emergency funding for the Postal Service.

It happened again. His name was George Floyd, and on May 25 he was murdered by Minneapolis police officers.
