MoveOn is proud to endorse Rep. Veronica Escobar for reelection in Texas’s 16th Congressional District!
Leadership and Experience
With decades of experience as an educator, local public servant, and trailblazing member of Congress, Veronica Escobar has dedicated her career to fighting for Texas families. Making history in 2018, she became one of the first two Latinas ever elected to represent Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives and the first woman to represent El Paso. In Washington, her extensive leadership has been recognized through her role as Co-Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) and as a National Co-Chair for the Harris-Walz campaign.
Before her election to Congress, Veronica served her community at the local level as an El Paso County Commissioner and later as El Paso County Judge, where she managed local governance and fought for progressive county infrastructure. Her early professional career began in education as a teacher. She is running for re-election to bring her deep legislative expertise, commitment to human rights, and fierce advocacy for border communities back to Washington.
