Spending 26 years as a leading news anchor in the Harrisburg media market, Janelle built her career on listening to the community, riding along with local law enforcement, and holding the powerful accountable. She stepped away from her long-standing television career to run for office because she grew tired of career politicians ignoring the everyday challenges of working families.

Having covered the up-close realities of the region’s economic and healthcare pressures, Janelle brings an deep, personal understanding of Central Pennsylvania to her campaign. She is running for Congress as a pragmatic problem-solver determined to put the needs of regular people ahead of special interests, corporate greed, and partisan games.

How she’ll help your community:

• Bringing Down the Cost of Living: Understanding that everyday items are increasingly out of reach, Janelle will champion bipartisan efforts to lower the cost of basic necessities—including food, gas, housing, and child care—while resisting regressive national sales taxes that burden the middle class.

• Fixing a Broken Congress: Janelle is pioneering a strong anti-corruption platform to ensure representatives answer to their voters, not corporate lobbyists. She supports a lifetime ban on members of Congress becoming lobbyists, a strict ban on individual stock trading for politicians and their immediate families, and a 6-term (12-year) constitutional limit on House service.

• Investing in Good-Paying Jobs: Decrying Pennsylvania’s current $7.25 minimum wage as outrageous, Janelle will fight to raise the wage floor so an hour of work buys more than a basic loaf of bread and gallon of milk. She will advocate for policies that create good-paying jobs, keep them local, and properly train workers for the modern economy.

• Honoring Veterans & Military Families: Janelle believes those who put their lives on the line for America deserve every benefit they have rightfully earned. In Congress, she will champion robust federal support to expand veteran healthcare access, invest in continuing education, provide local job training, and combat veteran homelessness.

• Affordable, High-Quality Healthcare: Janelle favors pragmatic, impactful healthcare reform. She supports lowering prescription drug prices by empowering the government to negotiate with Big Pharma, banning surprise medical bills, and expanding urgent and primary care access so people never have to wait months for an appointment.

• Defending Reproductive Freedom: After having to look into the television camera and announce the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Janelle committed herself to standing up against attacks on reproductive rights. She will fight to codify federal abortion protections so that women can make their own healthcare decisions alongside their doctors.

• Protecting Social Security and Medicare: Janelle stands firmly as a defender of crucial safety-net programs, vowing to protect and strengthen Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid against political cuts so seniors can retire with dignity.
