WASHINGTON – As announced in The Bulwark, MoveOn Political Action will launch the Won’t Back Down Tour this August, a national organizing campaign to hold House Republicans accountable for their support of the Trump economic agenda and to build grassroots momentum to flip key congressional districts in the 2026 midterm elections.
MoveOn will head to competitive swing districts represented by Republicans such as Reps. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-6), Dave Schweikert (AZ-1), and Don Bacon (NE-2)—lawmakers who voted to cut health care, reduce essential services, and deliver tax breaks for the wealthy.
The tour kicks off on Sunday, August 3, in Phoenix, Arizona, at The Van Buren, featuring Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ), and MeidasTouch. The event will spotlight Arizona’s Republican incumbents and mobilize local voters to organize, engage, and help flip both districts in 2026.
On Saturday, August 23, the tour continues in Omaha, Nebraska, with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL), and MeidasTouch. The program will focus on Rep. Don Bacon’s voting record, underscoring the stakes of flipping the NE-2 seat.
“MoveOn members are going to make Trump and Republicans face the consequences in 2026 for passing the largest health care cuts in U.S. history,” said Britt Jacovich, spokesperson for MoveOn Political Action. “The Won’t Back Down Tour is about organizing to win back power and showing up with the most energized leaders in the fight against Trump in the Republican districts where they are too afraid to face their constituents. The work starts now to take back the House in 2026 and hold the Republican Party accountable for ripping away our health care and raising our costs.”
Each stop will include opportunities for attendees to sign up for local election work, join voter outreach efforts, and become part of MoveOn’s organizing network in these high-stakes districts. Events will be livestreamed in partnership with MeidasTouch, allowing broader national participation and amplifying the push for accountability.
