WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, MoveOn-endorsed candidate Representative Summer Lee (PA-12) won her primary, overcoming millions in MAGA special-interest money. Rep. Lee, along with New Jersey Senate candidate Representative Andy Kim, were MoveOn’s first primary endorsements in 2024. Lee’s win is notable given the unprecedented dark-money spending against progressive candidates and incumbents this cycle.
“MoveOn members and PA-12 residents soundly rejected MAGA dark money by voting for Rep. Summer Lee, who has a strong track record of voting for people-first policies that protect our rights and communities,” said MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting. “MoveOn members are ready to defeat this dangerous flood of dark-money spending against progressive champions and ensure that we continue to elect working-class people to Congress.”
As The New York Times reported in January, MoveOn launched its $32+ million 2024 election program to mobilize millions of young surge voters to protect our freedoms and our democracy from Donald Trump and MAGA extremists. MoveOn is focusing on working to reelect President Biden and Vice President Harris, flipping more than two dozen U.S. House seats, and investing in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, and Ohio Senate seats.
