WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week Robert F. Kennedy Jr. failed to qualify for the first debate of the 2024 presidential election – and then threatened CNN employees with jail time.
Meanwhile, his polling and fundraising numbers are both tanking; May was his worst fundraising month yet – showing exactly how much he’s relying on his billionaire running mate to bail him out. The more voters learn about RFK Jr’s MAGA policies on abortion, climate, and immigration, the less they like him.
Ahead of the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade, RFK Jr. again reiterated his support for abortion bans, and claimed that many people elect to get late-term abortions because they recently went through a breakup.
Republicans have made no secret of wanting to do everything they can to help third-party spoilers, including RFK Jr., Jill Stein and Cornel West. Billionaire Tim Mellon is not only one of his biggest donors, he’s also one of Trump’s. He’s now given $75 million to Trump and $25 million to RFK Jr. Sounds about right.
In states across the country, RFK Jr. is also relying on Trump supporters to help him get on the ballot, amid a haphazard and dysfunctional ballot access operation.
Meanwhile, Stein paid $150,000 to a political consultant who was indicted on 13 felony counts of voter suppression for creating deepfake robocalls using President Biden’s voice.
