91 percent of MoveOn-endorsed candidates are on track to win their races in this cycle
Bakersfield, Calif. — In response to Randy Villegas winning his race to represent California’s 22nd Congressional District, MoveOn Political Action released the following statement:
“Randy Villegas is headed to Congress because he proved to voters in the Central Valley time and time again that he understands the affordability crisis and has concrete plans to lower the cost of living. MoveOn members were proud to campaign for Villegas and will back him in his efforts to lower prices and healthcare costs, end the war, get corrupt money out of politics.”
MoveOn launched digital ads, mailers, and tapped its sizable activist base to engage in member-to-member phone banks, get-out-the-vote efforts, and volunteer canvassing events for Villegas in the closely watched race.
Villegas’ endorsement was part of MoveOn’s largest primary campaign intervention in the history of the organization. MoveOn backed a wave of bold, populist candidates this cycle, like Villegas, Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota, and Brad Lander in New York, to send fighters to Congress who will not settle for the status quo. 91 percent of MoveOn-endorsed candidates are on track to win their races in this cycle.
