MoveOn members led dozens of the nearly 3,000 events across the country—
the largest single-day early-voting activation in American history
WASHINGTON—This weekend, millions of Americans gathered at nearly 3,000 No Kings: Vote Early events across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., in a massively successful day for grassroots democracy. Big cities and rural communities alike turned out to expand early-vote access, defend election integrity, and activate a fearless nationwide network of voters.
MoveOn led the organization of the No Kings events alongside groups like the ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Black Voters Matter Fund, 50501, Indivisible, League of Women Voters, Public Citizen, State Voices, and Voto Latino.
“Our movement has turned out millions of Americans over the last two years, and No Kings: Vote Early is our chance to carry our message over the finish line and reject authoritarianism once and for all. Americans can’t wait another two years for change—elected officials are trying to disenfranchise them and silence their vote now,” said Joel Payne, MoveOn’s chief communications officer, of Saturday’s events. “Pushing for record early voting is our best shot at ensuring every vote is counted.”
Next, the coalition will host a national strategy call on Wednesday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m. ET, focusing on final turnout tactics ahead of Election Day and the steps to prepare communities for election defense. All organizers, volunteers, and attendees can register HERE.
