WASHINGTON, D.C. – As reported in The Washington Post, MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting and Third Way Executive Vice President for Public Affairs Matt Bennett released a memo today lifting the veil from the MAGA-backed agendas of this cycle’s third-party candidates, who have no path to 270 electoral votes.
The memo outlines how spoiler candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jill Stein, and Cornel West will cut into President Biden’s vote share and help reelect Trump to the Oval Office. Epting and Bennett make a clear case for why now is the time for all groups in the anti-Trump coalition to address these third-party threats and inform voters about RFK Jr.’s and Stein’s extremist right-wing ties and dangerous agendas. “With less than six months until Election Day, Donald Trump’s path to the White House is a very real possibility, and we must act now to stop MAGA-backed third-party presidential threats like RFK Jr. and Jill Stein from making his path to the White House even easier,” said MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting. “The threat is real and growing by the day, and we have to mobilize now before it’s too late. Democrats have ignored third-party threats in past presidential elections to their own peril. It is up to us to come together to protect our communities against Donald Trump, RFK Jr., Jill Stein, and the MAGA Republican agenda.”
In addition to the memo, MoveOn is releasing a fact sheet exposing RFK Jr.’s extremist agenda and the danger he poses of undermining progressive policies, including abortion, the environment, trans rights, and more.
