NEW AD AGAINST NO LABELS: MoveOn and Partners Launch Ad Attacking Spoiler Ticket

6 Figure Ad Buy Up Against No Labels in AZ, NV, NC, WI & DC

Washington, D.C.After No Labels confirmed that they will move forward with their reckless third-party campaign, a coalition of progressive organizations launched an ad campaign warning that this eventual third-party ticket will only help get Donald Trump back in the White House. As reported in POLITICO, MoveOn, American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and Way to Lead partnered on the six-figure ad buy that will target voters in DC and key battleground states where No Labels is on the ballot, including Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.

“On Earth One let’s call No Labels what it is: the Stealth Trump Campaign. You don’t have to be a history teacher to know that third parties have affected Presidential elections—just look at the results in 2000 and 2016. This November’s election is an existential referendum on whether the United States will remain a democracy or risk becoming a dictatorship—it’s a choice between grievance, chaos, disruption and fear or progress and possibility. Too much is on the line,” said American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten

“There is a dangerous alliance between the No Labels party and the looming threat of a Trump victory, and we have to make sure voters in our winning multiracial, multigenerational coalition know that. Together, we must send a resounding message that a vote for No Labels is a vote for Trump,” said Jenifer Fernandez Ancona, Way to Lead’s spokesperson.

“The dark money, Trump-donor backed No Labels has put our freedoms and our democracy on the line with their reckless decision to run a third-party presidential ticket and we’re going to make sure voters know about it,” said Rahna Epting, MoveOn Political Action Executive Director. “We are exposing the truth behind No Labels directly to the very voters in several key battleground states who will make the difference this November. Any candidate who follows No Labels off the cliff will be making a terrible mistake and will be remembered for making it easier for Donald Trump to win a second term.”

Since writing an op-ed in The Washington Post last spring, MoveOn has been campaigning against the dangers of No Labels in concert with Third Way. Epting appeared on NPR’s “Open to Debate” against No Labels’ Ryan Clancy, and spoke recently with USA Today and The New York Times on the dangers of third-parties this fall. Additionally, MoveOn launched ExposeNoLabels.com; called on Secretaries of State to monitor No Label’s ballot access activities after voters in Maine were misled into changing their party affiliation status, and organized over 85,000 people to sign a petition calling for No Labels to step aside.
