WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to Donald Trump’s latest act of dog whistling during his interview at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention, MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting issued the following statement:
“Donald Trump feeds on lies and bigotry and regularly dog whistles to his base to degrade anyone who calls him out. He did it with Barack Obama, he did it with Hillary Clinton, he even did it with Nikki Haley. And he’s going to do it with Kamala Harris. This is always who he has been.
“Kamala Harris has dealt with this for her entire career. She knows how to deal with Donald Trump’s type, and we have her back.
“Trump and his MAGA Project 2025 minions are sinking to this low because he’s losing ground in this race. He sees the undeniable momentum that Harris has built behind her campaign with record fundraising and engagement. He also sees how unpopular his Project 2025 MAGA agenda and his extremist running mate JD Vance are, and he’s trying to change the conversation. It’s a tired, transparent playbook, and it will not work.
“We must stay vigilant and stay focused on the stakes in this election.”
