MoveOn: No Labels’ Courting Anti-Abortion Republican Nikki Haley Shows Their True Colors

You Can’t Claim You Are Seeking a “Unity Ticket” by Courting Anti-Abortion Extremists With Views Opposed by the Majority of Voters

Washington, D.C.In response to news that No Labels is courting Nikki Haley for their third-party ticket despite her public rejections and sore-loser laws that stop a candidate from contesting the same election twice, MoveOn Political Action Chief Communications Officer Joel Payne released the following statement:

“You can’t claim to be forming a ‘unity ticket’ and court anti-abortion extremists who, if elected, would advance abortion bans opposed by the majority of voters.

“This is just the latest desperation move by No Labels—turning to a candidate who can’t win a primary, couldn’t qualify for several state ballots, and has already said again and again that she has no interest in No Labels. Regardless of who jumps on No Labels’ sinking ship, there is still no path and no math for them to win in 2024. A No Labels ticket would only make it easier for Donald Trump to win a second term and destroy our democracy. No Labels should stand down.”
