Apply for a Kairos Fellowship with MoveOn by Feb. 7

We have an exciting announcement to share–MoveOn is once again going to be a host organization for the Kairos Fellowship!

The Spring 2018 Kairos Fellowship is a paid full-time eight-month job for emerging civic tech and online organizers of color. As a participant, you will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and an eight-month paid fellowship at MoveOn—from May 2018 to December 2018—with the possibility of full-time employment upon completion of the program. We’ll be looking to bring on a person with the potential to grow into a leader at MoveOn one day.

If you’re not familiar with Kairos, you can read more about it here. As the co-founder and director Mariana Ruiz shares, “Kairos is a unique, if not singular opportunity for people of color to develop online organizing and campaigning skills while being mentored and trained by other people of color and paid for working at a progressive or movement building organization.”

Civic technology and online campaigning have fundamentally changed how we organize and are integral to the movement building work we do at MoveOn. Yet these online tools are not equally accessible to everyone. Kairos wants to change this by making sure that organizers and people of color are designing tech tools, online organizing models, and leading the field as we transform technology to bring long-lasting social change to our communities.

If you are a field organizer, writer, or media-maker who wants to learn more about online organizing and tech skills, this is the program for you! Applications for the 2018 Spring Equity Cohort are now open. The final day to submit your application is Wednesday, February 7, 2018. But don’t wait, apply today!
