Washington, D.C. — In response to Donald Trump’s comments at a rally in Nebraska inviting Iran to strike San Diego and Los Angeles, calling it a “small price to pay,” Joel Payne, MoveOn Political Action’s chief communications officer, released the following statement:
“People in cities who did not vote for this president are not expendable. Inviting a foreign country to strike and kill millions of them is traitorous and disqualifying. Will Republicans in Congress call out these disgusting comments or continue to look the other way? MoveOn members know where they stand, and they are ready to turn out in record numbers to take back Congress and hold him and Pete Hegseth accountable for this illegal war.”
MoveOn has repeatedly called out Trump’s war in Iran for causing an economic disaster and raising prices for American families. The organization has millions of members across the country, including more than 879,000 in California alone.
