Miami—MoveOn Political Action, one of the leading progressive political organizations in the country, announced it is endorsing Florida State Representative Angie Nixon, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Florida, in the race to unseat Ashley Moody (R-Fla). 

“From her union-organizing days to her leadership in Tallahassee, Angie’s agenda has always put working people over the billionaires and wealthy corporations, and she has never been afraid to take on the tough fights,” said Joel Payne, MoveOn Political Action’s Chief Communications Officer. “MoveOn members are proud to endorse Angie because they know she’ll take that same energy to Washington and make extraordinary progress on Medicare for All, universal childcare, and affordable housing. We’re all in to help Angie win.” 

The endorsement is part of MoveOn’s $27 million election program, which is focused on winning back the support of the disillusioned and disengaged Democratic-leaning voters who didn’t vote in 2024. MoveOn is targeting these “skippers” by endorsing candidates who are laser-focused on taking the fight to Washington to lower prices, stand up to Trump and the billionaire Epstein class, and push back against the influence of dark money.

MoveOn has about 250,000 members in Florida and will be tapping its massive volunteer base to phone-bank and get out the vote for Nixon ahead of November 3. The organization is also maxing out a direct contribution to Nixon’s campaign to support her in the final stretch of the race.
