DALLAS – In response to President Trump’s proposal to issue a $5,000 check to every American adult if Republicans keep control of Congress in the midterm elections, MoveOn Political Action Chief Communications Officer Joel Payne released the following statement:

“Donald Trump is desperately trying to hide from his endless broken promises, a $40 billion war, and an economy in shambles. But families forced to pay through the nose for gas and groceries and the millions he kicked off of their healthcare won’t forget who is to blame this November.

The only people faring well under a Trump presidency are the billionaires who received massive tax breaks and his personal aide getting tens of thousands in side payments. 

MoveOn members refuse to let Trump off the hook for screwing over working people. They’re ready to deliver record turnout and hold him accountable in the midterm elections.” 

Donald Trump previously promised Americans a $5,000 DOGE dividend and a $2,000 tariff refund check that never came to fruition.
