WASHINGTON – In response to news reports that the Trump administration has moved to eliminate 50% of staff at the Department of Education immediately, effectively gutting its ability to support public schools, MoveOn Civic Action Executive Director Rahna Epting issued the following statement:
“Since taking office, President Trump has not done a single thing to make life better for our families. Today’s cuts will starve public schools of resources to make room for even more tax cuts for billionaires. Trump is leaving students, parents, and teachers out in the cold in favor of making his billionaire backers richer and richer.”
