How Did Norma Rae Stand Up To Corporate Abuse Of Workers?

One word: UNION.

In this scene, Norma Rae’s effort to unionize employees was galvanized by the work-related death of her father, and by the textile mill’s continuing attempts to illegally discourage and intimidate workers. This Academy Award-winning movie brought the need for organized labor to America’s attention when it was released in 1979.
