VIRGINIA – In response to Virginians overwhelmingly voting to redraw the state’s congressional map, MoveOn Political Action Chief Communications Officer Joel Payne released the following statement.
“Once again, the people have blunted President Trump and Republicans’ unprecedented power grab to pick their voters in the midterms. Virginians went to the ballot box to stop Republican efforts to avoid accountability for their failed policies. This should put Republicans on notice that if they want to continue to escalate this fight about mid-decade redistricting, the grassroots is ready to show up and fight back all across the country.”
MoveOn Political Action endorsed the measure and mobilized members to GOTV through email, phone banks and SMS, postcard mailers, and recruiting volunteers for direct voter contact outreach throughout the state. This campaigning follows the group’s 2025 endorsement and organizing for Prop 50, California’s redistricting effort in response to Trump’s extreme gerrymandering.
