Great news! In March, our friends at MomsRising.org started a MoveOn petition calling on President Obama to stand firm in his nomination of Dr. Vivek Murthy for U.S. Surgeon General, and for Congress to move forward with the confirmation.
Conservative powerhouses like the NRA actively worked to derail Dr. Murthy’s nomination and confirmation. Why? Because, like many other doctors, he has in the past referred to gun violence as a threat to public health. But MomsRisings, MoveOn members, and concerned Americans fought–and WON!
