Today, Public Policy Polling (PPP) released a new set of polls, commissioned by MoveOn.org Political Action, that show a majority of voters in 13 Republican-held House districts support increasing the minimum wage. The polls also show that voters will punish any Democrat or Republican who votes against raising the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. As part of a National Day of Action in support of a minimum wage increase, MoveOn members are holding a series of events on Tuesday, April 1, targeting vulnerable GOP incumbents in their home districts – demanding they support an increase in the minimum wage and delivering petition signatures from constituents.

“Raising the minimum wage is a commonsense policy that has strong support even in Republican-held districts,” said Ilya Sheyman, executive director of MoveOn.org Political Action. “Republicans in Congress who are standing the the way of pay raises for millions of American workers should be ready to pay at the ballot box in November.”
