MoveOn.org Projects ‘Investigate Trump, Investigate Sessions’ on DOJ Building on Eve of House Judiciary Hearing on Sessions-Focused Resolution of Inquiry

Projection released after resolution is voted down by Republicans to send a clear and public message that Americans want the truth about Trump and Sessions, and their many entanglements with Russia.

WASHINGTON, DC – On Tuesday evening, hours before the House Judiciary Committee hearing and vote on a Sessions-focused resolution of inquiry, MoveOn.org Civic Action worked with a D.C. artist to project a series of animated images over the front door to the Department of Justice headquarters with the message: “Investigate Trump, Investigate Sessions.”

The images featured the phrase “Investigate Trump, Investigate Sessions” in Russian, before a magnifying glass passed over the text and translated it into English.

The public illumination took place the day before today’s House Judiciary Committee debate and vote on a resolution of inquiry introduced by Reps. Hakeem Jeffries and Ted Lieu that would “compel the Trump White House and Sessions Justice Department to turn over emails, notes and all communication with Russian officials.”

A MoveOn.org petition calling for Sessions to resign and for a special prosecutor to investigate the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia has more than 250,000 signatures.

“The only way for Americans to be able to trust that our government can act with integrity—to know that our top leaders aren’t compromised by a foreign power, and to trust that the nation’s top cop follows the law that he is duty-bound to enforce—is for Attorney General Sessions to resign his post immediately and for his successor to appoint a special prosecutor to begin a comprehensive investigation of Donald Trump, his campaign, and his administration,” said Jo Comerford, MoveOn.org Campaign Director. “Anything short of that is flatly unacceptable and puts our country’s security, our free and fair elections, and our justice system at grave risk.”
