Anna Galland, executive director of MoveOn.org Civic Action, issued the following statement:
“If reports are true and Trump is ending DACA, he will cross yet another moral line. This action will be another sign that Trump’s Administration is advancing a white supremacist agenda over what the strong majority of Americans want from our government. There seems to be no end to the shameful, cruel and reckless actions taken by Trump and Republicans.
“If true, this move by Trump will literally tear families apart and turn our nation’s back on hundreds of thousands of young men and women who want to continue to live their lives in their home — America.
“More than 800,000 young people—people who came to this country as children and have deep roots in their communities—are facing an uncertain future because of Trump’s callous actions.
“Congress must deliver a clean, stand-alone immigration solution, like the DREAM Act, to provide legal protections for the young immigrants, families, and communities that are so cruelly impacted by the decision today.
“MoveOn members from America’s immigrant communities, and those standing beside them, will continue to fight together to call on the GOP and all of Congress to stand against Trump’s radical anti-immigrant agenda at every turn, and to pass a stand-alone legislative solution that protects immigrant youth and immigrant communities.”
