Today, MoveOn.org is launching a new 50-state campaign to protect and expand voting rights in this country. The “Defend the Vote” campaign kicks off today as more than 4,000 MoveOn members “drop by” congressional district offices nationwide to urge members of Congress to do all they can to strengthen and pass the bipartisan Voting Rights Amendment Act. Within the last week, MoveOn members have made thousands of phone calls to their representatives, and more than 245,000 members have signed petitions in support of the bill.
