“In a final act of 2017, Republicans in Congress have pushed through a tax plan that will raise taxes for half of all Americans and likely leave 13 million people without health care coverage—all to give massive tax cuts to giant corporations and billionaires. This bill will substantially drain the federal budget, set off mandatory cuts to vital programs like Medicare, and dramatically exacerbate economic inequality in the United States.
“The facts don’t lie: 92 million middle-class families will see their taxes go up because of this bill.
“The American people will remember whose side members of Congress were on today. We’ll hold responsible those who attacked working families to fund a payout for their corporate and billionaire donors. We’ll remember the members of Congress who personally benefited from this kleptocracy. And they’ll remember us come November.”
