WASHINGTON – As reported in AP, USA Today, CNN, and hundreds of local news outlets across the country, millions of Americans took part in more than 1,300 “Hands Off!” events nationwide–one of the single largest days of protest in history. The demonstrations, held across all 50 states and even internationally, were part of a large-scale mobilization aimed at pushing back against policies from the Trump administration and billionaire Elon Musk that threaten the key economic and social programs working people rely on.
While DC, New York, Boston, Chicago and other major cities brought out hundreds of thousands of people, the peaceful protests also inspired new, first-time protesters in rural and suburban areas. From Newsweek: “A handful of Trump-supporting cities held ‘Hands Off!’ protests on Saturday, including Rome, Georgia, where 70 percent of county voters backed Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, Midland, Michigan, where 56 percent supported him at the polls last November, and Little Rock, Arkansas, located in a county where 70 percent voted for Trump.”

The rallies continued around the world, with protests in Berlin, Paris, London, and more.
