No one is safe from the threats of Project 2025—not even our parents or grandparents.
Under Project 2025’s proposed Medicare changes, health care companies could decline coverage for anything from chemotherapy to nursing home stays, even if they’re doctor-recommended.
Republicans suggest making Medicare Advantage the default option for Medicare enrollment, but this would actually cost the government and taxpayers more money.
What Is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage offers Medicare coverage through private companies. It can be alluring for perks like gym memberships, but its restrictive networks and unpredictable coverage make it costly for people with chronic illnesses in need of lifesaving care.

Project 2025 would make this for-profit version of Medicare the default for future enrollments, which would give health care companies a payday while significantly lowering the quality of care for seniors.
And when it comes to lifesaving care, Medicare Advantage has serious disadvantages that will result in unforeseen costs for elders and their families.
These private plans will hurt sick patients the most by forcing them to shell out significant out-of-pocket costs and clear unnecessary hurdles in order to obtain coverage—all in the name of shareholder profits.
Project 2025’s plan to “reform federal retirement benefits” would increase the retirement age to 70, which it is estimated would cut lifetime benefits for new retirees by nearly 20%.
The proposed policies in Project 25 are ruthless and would directly harm the seniors in our lives.
The only way to stop Project 2025 from being enacted is to defeat Trump and MAGA in November.
