Do NOT freeze or cut federal aid!
Will you add your name to the petition to show that we, the people, OPPOSE Trump freezing federal funds that go toward our children, families, schools, and communities?
Sign this PetitionWASHINGTON – In response to news reports indicating the White House is revoking its plan with the IRS to create an unprecedented $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization fund” to reward President Trump’s allies after strong rebukes from multiple federal courts, Congressional members of both parties, and persistent grassroots pressure, MoveOn’s Political Action Chief Communications Officer Joel Payne released the following statement:
“Trump’s outrageous slush fund is a hallmark example of the lengths he will go to abuse his executive powers at the expense of the American people. There was no plausible way to justify granting Trump carte blanche to hand out massive payouts to insurrectionists and other MAGA loyalists, especially when everyday Americans can’t afford healthcare, gas, or the cost of utilities. On Election Day, Trump and his cronies will finally get the message of just how fed up Americans are with the jaw-dropping scale of corruption and retribution coming out of his White House.
MoveOn members thank Senate Democrats for holding together and not giving Trump allies in Congress an inch to greenlight the slush fund. Now our job is to ensure this slush fund never sees the light of day and to shut down the rest of this monstrosity of a bill that Republicans are trying to force into law that would give billions more to an unaccountable ICE to terrorize our communities. Not another dime should be spent to fund Trump’s ICE.”
