With decades of experience in public service and an unyielding commitment to government accountability, Matt Dunlap has dedicated his career to fighting for Maine’s working families. Currently serving as Maine’s State Auditor, Matt works to improve the efficiency of state government, eliminate waste, and prevent fraud. Prior to this role, he served as Maine’s Secretary of State, where he established himself as a fierce protector of the public trust.

During Donald Trump’s first term, Matt was appointed to what was intended to be a bipartisan “election integrity” commission. When it became clear that the panel was being used as a front for a fraudulent power grab, Matt took the Trump administration to court, won the lawsuit, and forced the commission to be dissolved. Born and raised on a farm near Bar Harbor, Matt has never forgotten his roots. He is running for Congress to take on the powerful interests that have rigged the economy against the working class and to ensure Washington works for everyday people, not Wall Street.

• Defending Democracy: Having successfully sued the Trump administration to dismantle a sham “election integrity” panel, Matt will bring that same independent, fighting spirit to Washington to protect voting rights and push back against authoritarian threats.
