about Chris Rabb

MoveOn is proud to endorse Chris Rabb for Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District!

Leadership and Experience

With a rich family legacy rooted deeply in civil rights activism, Chris Rabb has spent his career challenging corporate power, advancing social justice, and standing up for communities too often ignored by political insiders. Born into a lineage of changemakers—including a great-great-grandfather who was born into slavery and went on to found the Baltimore Afro-American newspaper—Chris carried this activist fire to Yale University, where he successfully organized the removal of a shackled slave image from a common room. He went on to serve as a legislative staffer in the U.S. Senate for trailblazing Senator Carol Moseley Braun, work on the White House Conference on Small Business under President Clinton, and share his knowledge as an author and professor at Temple University.

In 2016, Chris translated his grassroots commitment into electoral success, defying the political establishment to win a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives representing Northwest Philadelphia. Over his five terms in Harrisburg, he earned a reputation as a fiery, unyielding progressive champion who co-founded the PA Climate Caucus and consistently prioritized the human rights of working-class families over corporate special interests. Fresh off a historic victory in a highly competitive open Democratic primary, Chris is running for the United States House of Representatives to bring independent, movement-backed leadership to Washington.

How he’ll help your community:

  • Challenging Corporate Power: Chris refuses to let corporate monopolies dictate the livelihoods of everyday people. He will fight to ensure utility customers and consumers are no longer forced to foot the bill for corporate lobbying and dark money political activities.

  • Environmental Justice and Accountability: As a co-founder of the state Climate Caucus, Chris fights to protect families from systemic pollution. In Congress, he will introduce federal legislation to counter corporate “greenwashing” and heavily penalize companies that deceptively claim to be environmentally friendly.

  • Transforming the Justice System: Approaching public safety through the lens of human dignity, Chris will advocate for federal judicial reform. He champions restorative justice models in sentencing and will fight to end the death penalty nationwide.

  • Dignity and Equity for All Neighbors: Chris is committed to repairing historical inequities. He will push for federal initiatives that convert inhumane immigrant detention facilities into community-centered resources and provide targeted educational support for historically marginalized populations.

His position on key issues

  • Medicare for All: Backed by a powerful progressive coalition, Chris firmly believes that healthcare is a fundamental human right. He will advocate for Medicare for All to stop corporate insurance companies from profiting off human illness.

  • Movement Politics Over the Status Quo: Standing firmly as a movement candidate, Chris rejects establishment politics and refuses to let corporate PACs or wealthy oligarchs buy legislative seats. His campaign is driven entirely by grassroots, small-dollar people power.

  • Rethinking Immigration Systems: Chris opposes the weaponization of the immigration system. He will push to audit and transform current enforcement structures, replacing corporate-backed detention centers with ethical, human-centric community integration models.

  • Economic Equity for Working Families: Chris is dedicated to dismantling billionaire-driven inequality. He will advocate for tax modernization and reform to make the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share while lowering the heavy economic burden on working families.
