With over two decades of experience as a community organizer, grassroots activist, and state representative, Angie Nixon has dedicated her career to fighting for Florida’s working-class communities. A Jacksonville native, she has consistently put people over corporate interests, championing public education, economic fairness, and civil rights both in the Florida House of Representatives and across the state.

Throughout her tenure in public service, Angie has been a fierce advocate on the frontlines for everyday Floridians. From protesting gerrymandered redistricting maps that dilute Black voting power to fighting corporate price-gouging, she has built a reputation for unapologetic, movement-driven leadership. Now running for the Senate, Angie is taking her record of grassroots organizing and public accountability to deliver real results for working families.

• Housing Affordability & Tenant Protection: To combat Florida’s escalating housing crisis, Angie supports federal rent stabilization measures, including a 10% cap on rent increases in struggling markets, banning private equity firms from buying up single-family homes, and boosting HUD and Community Development Block Grant funding for down-payment assistance.

• Healthcare as a Fundamental Right: Angie believes healthcare should be accessible to everyone. She advocates for immediately extending Affordable Care Act subsidies to lower premium costs for families, while building a path toward a universal Medicare for All system.

• Ending Corporate Price-Gouging: To address the rising cost of living, Angie supports aggressive federal legislation to penalize corporations that artificially inflate prices on necessities like groceries and fuel, holding executives accountable to safeguard working-class budgets.
