Do NOT freeze or cut federal aid!
Will you add your name to the petition to show that we, the people, OPPOSE Trump freezing federal funds that go toward our children, families, schools, and communities?
Sign this PetitionDETROIT – In response to United Auto Workers (UAW) members announcing their endorsement of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed in the Democratic primary contest for the U.S. Senate race in Michigan, MoveOn Chief Communications Officer Joel Payne released the following statement:
“UAW members see what MoveOn members see: Abdul El-Sayed is a fighter who will take on the status quo and can be counted on to deliver lower prices. There’s a reason his campaign is inspiring people all over the state. His economic populism resonates with Michiganders who are sick of lip service, dark money, and politicians who don’t seem to get their day-to-day struggles.
“Those in congressional cloakrooms and in the establishment class in DC may not like it, but real Michiganders continue to make their support for El-Sayed’s economic populism and people-centered agenda clear.”
As reported in Politico last week, MoveOn endorsed El-Sayed as part of its $27M election program focused on winning back the support of the disillusioned and disengaged Democratic-leaning voters who didn’t vote in 2024. Like El-Sayed, MoveOn is endorsing exactly the types of candidates who can appeal to these “skippers”—fighters who will go to Washington and lower prices, stand up to Trump and the billionaire Epstein class, and push back against the influence of dark money. MoveOn will be tapping its sizable activist base to phone-bank, canvass, and get out the vote for El-Sayed.
