MoveOn calls on Trump admin to address affordability crisis instead of funding violence

Washington, D.C. — In response to the news that the Trump administration is directing ICE to ramp up raids and arrests in California, Joel Payne, MoveOn’s Chief Communications Officer, released the following statement.

“No one is safer because ICE is terrorizing and violently hunting down our neighbors. The surge of ICE activity in California is a clear attempt to intimidate Latino communities and force them to stay home in the midterm elections. It won’t work.

Why won’t the Trump administration put American families first and address the affordability crisis instead? Congress must commit to investigating ICE’s violence and refuse any additional funding to the agency.”
