Trump is actively violating the U.S. Constitution. Here’s what that means for you:
The 1st Amendment
Under Trump, we have watched ICE agents murder, arrest, and beat protestors and observers. Every time one of Trump’s ICE officers assaults, kills, or arrests someone for observing or protesting, they are violating the First Amendment.

The 4th Amendment
A leaked memo says that Trump’s ICE agents can enter anyone’s property and arrest them with just a civil ICE administrative warrant for removal and without a judge’s criminal warrant.
ICE’s apparent enforcement policy contradicts Homeland Security’s training materials and how ICE and police officers are supposed to follow the 4th Amendment. This amendment protects everyone in the U.S. from illegal searches and seizures. If you find yourself being targeted by Trump’s ICE agents, your right to not be searched and seized may be moot.
Take Action: Find a local Detention Watch Network group. You can help find legal resources through a national directory for those who are impacted by ICE’s corrupt kidnappings. You can also call United We Dream’s ICE Raid hotline.
The 5th Amendment
The 5th Amendment protects you from the government taking away your livelihood, property, or freedom without due process. President Trump cancelled millions of dollars in grants for clean and affordable energy as well as transportation projects in states that voted for Democratic candidates, so this action has violated the 5th Amendment. These projects would have saved Americans money and protected their health. This impacts communities all across the country.

The 10th Amendment
The 10th Amendment allows state issues to be handled by the state. Trump invaded Minnesota with ICE in order to force them to hand over voter data and work with immigration enforcement in clear violation of the 10th Amendment.
Take Action: If you find ICE in your community, even if your state hasn’t asked for them to be there, be prepared by knowing your rights.
The 14th Amendment
Trump has attempted to get rid of birthright citizenship, which states that anyone born on American soil is a U.S. citizen, so he can redefine who gets to be an American. If birthright citizenship ends, it will create generations of stateless children who are denied basic rights in the only country they’ve ever known. Trump’s ICE is additionally violating the 14th Amendment in their raids and arrests, ignoring due process rights that are guaranteed to everyone, regardless of immigration status.
Take Action: The Legal Defense Fund has knowledge and resources if you or someone you know is at risk for losing citizenship as Trump attempts to end birthright citizenship.
