WASHINGTON – As President Trump and Republicans rapidly approach shutting down the government instead of reining in Trump’s murderous Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) forces, MoveOn Civic Action spokesperson Britt Jacovich released the following statement:
“Trump and Republicans would rather cut our health care and shut down the government than stop ICE from terrorizing our playgrounds, churches, and streets. A vote for DHS funding is a vote for ICE’s ongoing murder of Americans and kidnapping of children. Senate Democrats must continue listening to the pleas from Minnesotans, parents, schoolteachers, clergy and the majority of Americans who want ICE reined in and hold the line until we can finally unmask these reckless agents, get ICE out of our homes, and bring families back together.”
