The End Of The EPA?

Republicans have taken their climate crisis denial one step too far.

U.S. Senator Richard Burr (R-North Carolina) introduced a bill that would consolidate the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency into a single new agency called the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE).

The DOE exists, in part, to protect America’s financial interests in energy—not the environment. If the DOE becomes the taskmaster of the EPA, severe conflicts of interest will occur to weaken the EPA’s ability to perform its sole function—protecting our health and environment.

Are you getting a feeling this is part of the Republican plan to gut vital programs that get in the way of their unrestricted profits? So are we.

Here’s a refresher on what the EPA has done for us in 40 years:

Without the EPA, who will protect our children and grandchildren?
