VICTORY: Attorney General Holder Blocks TX and SC Voter Suppression Laws

AG Holder

In state after state, Republicans have passed laws to make voting more difficult for poor people, African-Americans, Latinos, and other groups who tend to vote Democratic. Judith Browne Dianis, co-director of the Advancement Project, launched a MoveOn Petition as part of a major nationwide campaign calling on Attorney General Eric Holder to halt implementation of these laws in states with a history of racist voter suppression. So far, the Justice Department has blocked both the South Carolina and Texas voter suppression laws, and Judith and her organization are using MoveOn’s petition website to fight similar laws in dozens of states around the country.
