When owners of the rabidly sexist restaurant chain Tilted Kilt tried to open a new franchise in Evanston, Illinois, Kathleen Flaherty and Cynthia Farenga said “no way.” They started a MoveOn Petition to Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, asking her to deny the restaurant owner’s application for a liquor license.
