Maddow: 'A Dystopian Leftist Novel From The Future'

Michigan Republican Governor Rick Snyder has declared a fiscal emergency, and he’s using it to push his agenda of removing power from regular people and placing it in the hands of corporations. In this powerful clip, Rachel Maddow explains the underpinnings of the real Republican agenda:

Hey, right wingers on here, what do you say to this “big government” trampling of citizens’ rights?nnDo you guys still think this is right, simply because Republicans (or “Conservatives”) are the perpetrators and leaders?nnGo to DemocracyIsForPeople(dot)Org and see what you can do to stop this DANGEROUS usurpation of citizens’ rights (and authority) by Corporations using bought-and-paid-for governors like Snyder, Walker, Kasich, and several others to do their bidding.nnWake up America!

This makes Wisconsin look like a rehearsal.

John- these are unelected government workers who are protesting against elected government workers. This is “big government” trampling “big government”. If this were about freedom of speech or the right to assemble (you get the picture) then I’d agree with your citizen’s rights argument.

This is not about Wisconsin. This is about another monstrosity being perpetrated by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder against “Michiganders” by order of his corporate overlords. Please watch the Rachel Maddow clip up top, and you’ll understand.

Consolidating power is wrong and against our constitution, no matter who is doing it. nnI think you folks, on the left, are misreading what is going on. There is real momentum, from real citizens to shrink the size and scope of all government agencies local, federal, or otherwise.nnIt’s real folks, get used to it.

Wait a second…Rachel Maddog was given a contract to write a book, but it was so bad, and so comical, that the publisher didn’t even bother to print it, and when they asked for the money back Ms. Maddog told them that she had spent it all.nnOn what? Medication for hallucinations? For delusions of grandeur?

“This gubbamint stuff is………….too complicated!”nnWow…you sound just like Ezra Klein. He said that he can’t follow the US Constitution because “it is over 100 years old and they wrote it with language people can’t understand.”nnWe call people like that DUMBSHITS.

Sort of like Contessa Brewer’s does, but Anna Nicole’s probably smells a whole lot better.

“Consolidating power is wrong and against our constitution, no matter who is doing it.”nnShow me in the US Constitution where “consolidating power” is illegal – or, better yet, is even mentioned.nnAre you Ezra Klein? Or just Ezra Kleining?

“…using bought-and-paid-for governors like Snyder, Walker, Kasich…”nnSorry, SCHMUCK, but those men were ELECTED by the people. They won an election – they didn’t just take over in a coup.nnYou don’t like what they are doing? You are more than free to wait until the next election and vote them out of office. That’s called “democracy,” and, seeing how the doofi in Wisconsin are behaving lately, I believe that they have no clue what democracy means anymore.

sorry, craig. we won’t get used to it. this is not what most people bargained for when they elected this recent bunch of ideologue shoving it down the people’s throat with votes in the middle of the night and sneaky procedural tactics in general. The only reason this debate is being held in public is because it was dragged there kicking and screaming. I am so glad that it backfired. Walker will survive one year, until he is recalled. The others will pay the political price.

The quote didn’t say it was illegal or unconstitutional, it said it was “wrong, no matter who is doing it.” It is called ethics.

thankfully, I am confidant that none of them will get elected. It was a shameful display in Wisconsin. nnPlease don’t hold forth on elections having consequences…it only sounds good to you when you say it….nnFurther, we are aware of the effect of the Citizens United ruling and we also have that awesome prank call to Gov Walker. It doesn’t get more bought and paid for….so can the name calling, as it bores me to tears. TRY to be civil.nnnn

get rid of him. See what the young people did in Cairo!!!! Crowds in the streets scare the HELL out of politicians.

Care to cite a source for that assertion?

Election to public office does not entitle ANY governor to dictatorial powers. Moreover, none of the governors who were elected mentioned implementing a national 1-size-fits-all doctrine to repair fiscal crises they personally would create. Yet that’s what they are doing in coordinated fashion as mapped out by the Midwest Strategy and other Republican think tanks.nnTo say this reflects the will of the people is wrong. The people were defrauded and will be demanding justice sooner than the next election.
